Step 20: Click on the "Save" button or ( File > Save As from the toolbar. Type the filename and save the file.
Treadmill Stress Test - Stimulating the Heart to Search for Heart Problems & Degree of Complications

Treadmill stress test is performed to search for abnormal heart beat, decrease supply of oxygen/blood to heart, indicate coronary artery disease, detect irregular heart rhythms and overall cardiovascular conditioning of the person undergoing a treadmill stress test.
Treadmill stress test is useful to screen people who desire to start an exercise program and help to make plans accordingly.
During a treadmill stress test, electrical activity during exercise or during physical exertion on a treadmill is recorded. Treadmill stress test mainly monitors the heart rate and heart rhythm while the patient is walking on a treadmill. A treadmill stress test also is known as an exercise electrocardiogram. Treadmill stress test is performed on doctor request/prescription. A treadmill stress test is very safe, reliable, non-invasive and not too expensive to do.
In a treadmill stress test the patient is connected to an electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) machine and a blood pressure cuff is placed on the arm. Electrodes will be placed on the patient during the treadmill stress test at different locations on the arms and chest. A sensor may be attached to the finger of the patient to measure the level of oxygen in the blood during the treadmill stress test. EKG and blood pressure records will be taken before and during the treadmill stress test. Initially during the treadmill stress test the patient is made to walk on the treadmill at a slow speed. The pace of the treadmill increases and the incline is raised during the course of the treadmill stress test. The test lasts about 10-15 or sometimes 60 minutes depending upon the level of recovery and cardiovascular conditioning of the person during the treadmill stress test.
The speed and incline of the treadmill during the treadmill stress test is increased gradually or in intervals .A Cardiologist and a technician are present during the treadmill stress test. Blood pressure rates and breathing rates are recorded and measured during the test.
During the treadmill stress test the electrodes detect the electrical impulses generated by the heart, and transmit them to the ECG/EKG machine. The ECG/EKG machine produces a graph (ECG tracing) of those cardiac electrical impulses. The doctor monitors changes in ECG/EKG patterns during the treadmill stress test. Symptoms experienced by the patient during the treadmill stress test will be looked at and recorded by the doctor. If the patient feels tired, has chest pains or is exhausted then the treadmill stress test is stopped.
Treadmill stress tests help to determine if the blood and oxygen flow to the heart is sufficient when it is under an increased workload. Treadmill stress test also indicates coronary artery disease or abnormal heart rhythms during workload or exertion. Cardiac condition relating to irregular heart rhythms can be evaluated during treadmill stress test. Treadmill stress test helps doctor to detect how hard the heart can work before symptoms develop, the recovery pace of the heart after exertion, and the overall level of cardiovascular conditioning. Doctors can detect the severity of coronary artery disease during the treadmill stress test. Whether or not drugs which are prescribed to treat patients are working can be also detected during the treadmill stress test.
During the treadmill stress test the purpose of increasing to higher levels of exertion in stages is because problems occur as the person performs certain activities. During the treadmill stress test as the person starts increasing the level of exertion, the heart requires more blood and energy and if the heart doesnt get it then there is chest pain, breathing problems or dizziness. If these symptoms appear during the treadmill stress test, then the problem is recognized and treatment is started.
Risk involved in the treadmill stress test is very small. Treadmill stress test is similar to jogging, running a flight of stairs, etc. However, treadmill stress test is required to be performed in attendance of technician and medical staff to manage complications like sustained irregular heart beats, unrelieved chest pain, heart attack, etc.
Treadmill stress test is an effective way to detect and evaluate problems relating to the heart and to follow and plan treatment depending upon the severity of symptoms detected during the treadmill stress test.

Condo and Small Space Living

Whatever the style of your new condo development or your own personal style - Designing for a condo begins with some self knowledge, a critical evaluation of how you live or aspire to live, your new floor plans and an understanding of the importance of flow in small spaces.
Adapting to a smaller condo unit (or a small space in general) means that you need to rethink the volume of your furniture, storage and room sizes - BUT as they say "Big things can come in small packages". I have been to many truly amazing and inspiring small space homes and condos. But that is getting ahead of ourselves; First is the difficult process of Downsizing - the design buzz word for editing down your possessions to what is truly important and organizing them in a clear, stylish and efficient manner.
Downsizing is often one of the most difficult processes of moving into a condo, but it is also one of the most freeing, letting us adapt to our new spaces and lifestyles. This means throwing out the boxes of paperwork from 20 years ago.......the boxes of lamps to repair that you put away 5 years ago........everything that doesnt have importance and frequent usage. This is also the time to dispose of things that wont fit or work in your new homes design - such as overstuffed-oversized sofas and chairs. This is the opportunity to live out your dream in your personal style......to create an environment that completely suits you now and who you want to be.
Once you have your floor plan and precise measurements in hand, the fun part can begin - take a pad of graph paper and a bunch of pencils and carefully plot out all the different scenarios for the placement of your furniture - remember to leave breathing room around your furniture and if something doesnt work or is to large - it has to go. Oversized dark furniture that once looked rich and inviting in your home library or study probably isn't going to work now. Decide which pieces you are going to sell and which you will give to family.......and those that need to simply go.
Moving into a condo is actually a wonderful time to reevaluate your lifestyle and redesign it to who you are now and how you desire to live, relax and entertain.
What you need to do when shopping for and designing your new condo is to always keep the scale and size of your home in mind. That oversized sofa that looks good in the 5000 sq. ft. furniture showroom is going to look like a car in your condo. It looks to scale in that setting but once you get it home its a completely different story.
The reality of Canadian Condo dwelling is that most will have somewhere in the neighbourhood of 600 to 1250 sq. ft. of space. This requires you to make the best of every square inch of space and something that I always stress - Making rooms multipurpose and your furniture multifunctional. For example - A dining area can be both a dining room and a library.......a coffee table can have hidden storage......ottomans can have lift top lids for extra storage and seating......the list is endless. As well, think of your furniture in terms of human scale.
I always prefer to scale down the larger pieces of furniture as much as possible so that it is very comfortable BUT there is no waste.................So if you are going for an eclectic look (and by this I don't mean anything goes........this is actually the most difficult style to pull off and requires well thought editing and placement) - you need to make sure that the contemporary pieces you introduce complement the scale and proportion of the antique pieces(which usually have a smaller and lower scale).
When moving into your condo only keep the antique pieces (if you have them) that are the most cherished - your prize possessions.......sell the rest or give them to your family........by having just a few good pieces you give them breathing room......allow them to be seen more clearly and allow them to function and flow better in your condo space. By mixing some antique and vintage with clean lined modern you will create a dynamic and sexy space in which the characteristics of each piece brings out the best in the others.
Another important process to do before you move in is to make a list of the ways you want to use each room and the number of pieces you want to put into them - using your floor plans and graph paper for reference. Start plotting out the various components - sofa, chairs, art, tables, lamps, ottomans, coffetables, etc. SEE what gives you the best grouping based on your scale. Its a quick and efficient way to see how many things you can fit in from your priority list.
ALWAYS avoid sofas with giant oversized rolled arms - the DEATH of most condos - they can easily take up 9 inches on either side which means you are dedicating 18 inches to the arms of your sofa - simply bad design. For small spaces a good rule of thumb is for your sofa to be 7 feet long and approx. 36 inches deep
The design of your condo should allow for easy flow of purposes, whether its work....daily living...entertaining. That means every piece needs to be easily moveable and that as many things as possible can work double duty.
Many homeowners find it difficult to understand scale and proportions - if you go oversized on your main pieces - everything else will need to have similar proportions - You can't have a giant rolled arm sofa with small streamlined teak chairs. BUT you can have sleek scaled down modern furnishings with oversized accessories to create drama and a sense of grandeur - Such as an oversized floor mirror or a massive painting. It is better to have a few larger dramatic pieces then a sea of little collections and knick knacks.
And remember, dont be afraid of colour! Use it to your advantage by Colour blocking walls and accessories - Add some depth and warmth. Set up your condo to who you are now and who you want to be. Its time for you to start living your life the way you envision it.

Be Prepared for Marketing

For most businesses, making a sale is all important. However, despite the amount of effort and attention given to getting sales, there is often no attention given to developing and effectively implementing a systematic marketing process. There are many things that can go wrong between the point of the customer first developing an interest in your product or service and the time of making the sale. Despite knowing this, very few businesses actually take proactive steps to nurture the progress of a sale. In sales and marketing, as in life, preparation makes a world of difference.
Be Prepared to Initiate
In many businesses there is no real attempt to initiate action towards a sale. Many sit and wait for customers to come in or for the phone to ring. They hope the customer will initiate the action. This is OK when things are busy, but what happens when trade slows down? Often the first thought is that we had better do some advertising. Unfortunately, random, unfocused, one off type advertising rarely achieves good results. You need to know what initiates action from your customers and then consistently and regularly set that process in motion. This takes a degree of preparation and planning, by analysing customer needs, preparation of a targeted marketing message and delivery through the right media to attract the appropriate amount of attention from the right customers.
Be Prepared to Measure
Is there anything worse when not making enough sales than to spend money on advertising that doesnt work? The trouble is, many people dont actually know whether their advertising is working or not. They dont take the time and effort to monitor and measure the response to advertising. Every time a new customer makes an enquiry or purchase, you should be asking why they came to you. Then note and keep track of the answers. If you cant tell what advertising works and what doesnt, you will end up wasting a lot of money. When you spend money on advertising, be prepared to monitor and measure the results. No one really knows what will work and what wont. You need to measure results and fine tune your advertising so that you do more of what works and less of what doesnt.
Be Prepared to Respond
Even worse than doing advertising that doesnt work is to be unprepared to deal with the enquiries that do come in. Nothing kills off sales quicker than not giving customers what they expect. You need to be prepared with follow up marketing materials, stock to sell and people who are trained to deal with the enquiries. Sales staff need to be trained and prepared to be customer focused. They should be able to lead the customer in a helpful manner towards making a decision in such a way that no pressure is ever exerted by the sales person or felt by the customer. My experience is that very few sales people ever achieve this level of expertise. How about yours? How much training do you give them?
Be Prepared to Help
Customers hate to be sold, but love having their needs met. In these days where customers are much better informed, most of the old sales techniques of the last decade no longer work. Customers are put off by tired and over used sales techniques. Today selling is about being helpful, providing advice and assistance to customers in matching specific products or services to the customers specific needs. You need to be good at discovering those needs to be able to offer helpful solutions. Many sales people jump too quickly over the process of discovering needs and skip straight to the solutions stage. This makes selling difficult. When you spend most of your time discovering needs, you build a lot of trust that means when it comes to offering the solution it is usually obvious that it is the right one for the customer and they buy with minimal hesitation. It all comes down to being prepared to help, not sell.
Be Prepared to Compete
Do you worry about your competitors and feel that they are getting too many sales that you should have won? Well, dont just worry and get annoyed about it. Be prepared to fight back. Find out what the competition does and learn about their strengths and weaknesses. Then get proactive. Attack their weaknesses and downplay their strengths in your marketing and sales efforts. Do a better job of marketing your business and products or service than they do theirs. If you cant do it yourself, get help.
Be Prepared for Objections
You have probably noticed that most sales dont go through the process smoothly without the customer raising some objections. Despite this, many sales people seem to be caught out when customers have a problem or need an answer to a concern they have. This is often the case when the same types of objections are raised repeatedly. Good preparation can help in overcoming objections. Get your salespeople to write down objections that stump them. Find the best way to overcome those objections and prepare your sales people to answer them effectively. This is best done by answering the objections before the customer raises them. Do you know what a difference it makes to a sales persons confidence levels when they feel prepared to tackle objections? Its enough to make your sales graph go through the roof.
Satellite TV Set Up Fun

Satellite TV was the rainbow after the storm in my life. I had just left my drudge of a job, as an overworked sales clerk. I was bored at home, feeling really low. I did a lot of looking around in stores and window shopping just to get out of the house. I saw a promotion in the window of one of the video stores in town. It was for a satellite TV system on sale. Since I didn't have cable TV At the time, this ad really attracted me.
I went in and had a look at the quality and content of the satellite programming being shown on one of the TV sets showing it. The picture was so impressive. The picture quality was so crystal clear, and sharp. The brochure the clerk provided me indicated that there were over 50 channels to watch. Of course I jumped at the chance to brighten up my life.
That evening the store owner installed the dish. He laid the cable and hooked everything up. The system was turned on and then nothing. The receiver had to wait to be activated. This took over 24 hours to occur. When it started working it was terrific. It featured all the movie channels one could wish for. HBO, Cinemax, the Movie Channel, the independent Film Channel, and more. There were more sports channels than one could watch. MTV quickly became one of my favourites. Shows like Road Rules, and The Real World, made my day. It was like being in touch with a world I had never known.
Satellite TV signal reception has vulnerabilities. During heavy rain or snow storms, the amount of data carried in the signal is reduced, sometimes so much so that the computer which constructs the picture on the screen, can't do its job. When this happens little blocks pop up on the screen. This is called picture break up. If the rain or snow storm becomes more heavy, the data will became so reduced that the video freezes its movement. The computer crashes. Unplugging the receiver, removing and reinserting the smart card usually fixes the computer crash. When the storm has passed and the dish can receive, the satellite TV data at a normal signal strength, everything will work, normally once the receiver is plugged in and turned on.
When I moved residences, I had to reinstall the Satellite TV dish. This involves attaching a mast to the wall of your house, with a clear view of the southern sky. That means no trees, houses, or anything, in the way of the line of sight the dish has to the satellite location in the sky. The mast must be levelled vertically. The satellite dish is placed on the mast and set to the approximately height and direction of the satellite location in the sky. The receiver is then connected to the wire lead from the dish, and the TV. When the receiver is turned on and put in tuning mode, a graph will display the satellite signal strength. The satellite dish is moved ever so gently by a hairs width, up and down, side to side, until you reach the highest satellite signal strength. This gives you the best chance of viewing longer during a rain or snow storm.
On the whole satellite TV is the best TV viewing you can experience. You usually get more for your dollar, and it's worth every penny spent.

How to Use Graphs and Charts in Your Business Plan

Many people ask how many graphs or charts they should have in their business plans. As with most other business planning questions, the answer is it depends. This article discusses the key factors influencing the number of graphs and charts to include in your business plan.
To begin, the key point to consider in developing your business plan is the time restraints of your audience. If your audience is a retired angel investor, he may have few obligations and can spend an hour reviewing your business plan. However, the more likely scenario is that a venture capitalist, corporate investor or loan officer will review your plan while sitting at a desk topped with fifty other business plans. As such, it is critical that your plan conveys its key points quickly and easily this is where graphs or charts come in.
In determining whether to use a graph or chart, consider the old adage, a picture is worth a thousand words. The point here is that the picture should save a thousand words. That is, the graph or chart should supplement the text; it should not be explained ad naseum in the text, or that defeats its purpose. Likewise, the graph or chart must be relevant and support the text, rather than detract from it.
In addition to respecting the time constraints of the audience, the business plan must respect the audiences energy level. That is, after reading seven business plans, an investor is likely to skip a page with 400 words of straight text. Even if no charts are applicable to support the page, Growthink suggests using appropriate spacing and/or callout boxes (e.g., key text phrases highlighted in boxes) to make the page more readable.
Clearly, technical drawings and operational designs need to be visually presented in the business plan. Without them, huge volumes of text are often needed to explain relatively simple processes. Importantly, when the text references these charts, the charts should be easily accessible. That is, the chart should be on the same page as the text, rather than forcing the audience to continually turn to an appendix. If the chart is referenced on numerous pages, each page should show the piece of the chart that reflects the text, with the full chart appearing only once in the plan.
Finally, if the business plan is being presented to one or few investors, the amount of graphs and charts should reflect the wants, needs and sophistication of those few readers. For instance, if the plan is being presented only to strategic investors who understand the market, more graphs may be appropriate to convey information for which these investors already have background knowledge.
Conversely, always keep in mind that the plan is not a slide presentation, and too many graphs and charts may position the company as one that is too lazy to complete the process of developing a formal business plan.
To summarize, the amount of charts and graphs used in the business plan must reflect the audience for the plan; an audience that is usually time and energy constrained. The charts and graphs must complement the text, enable the audience to quickly and easily digest the information, and as always, interest the audience in taking the next step (e.g., scheduling an in-person meeting) in the investment process.
How To Buy Lego Cheap and at a Large Discount

There is a huge market for Lego developing, and in large market there are price variations one can take advantage of. The marketplace for Lego has grown enormously since the introduction of Mindstorm the robotics orientated Lego. Now Lego is not only in the realm of children's toys, but it is of interest to many adult institutions. Engineering schools, executive eduction, hobbyists, and of course hackers, are re-inventing the way Lego is used. For economists the little Lego commodity is the ideal way to study micro-markets.
What better micro-market with near fluid efficiencies than found on eBay. In fact a huge amount of Lego pieces are traded everyday on eBay. Now like every other market, a little inside information can help you identify pricing opportunities. This article focuses on buying Lego on eBay, and specifically how to buy it cheap and at a discount. In short how identify buying opportunities.
This article should be read together with my longer piece and a web site which produces the information required to identify buying nuggets. Find the links and URL's to these two sites below.
Most information on eBay focuses on the selling element, how to sell your stuff. I have tended to specialize on the buying end and trying to identify market opportunities and price in-efficiencies to really capture excellent deals. Let's briefly understand the dynamics of the eBay market place. Like any other market it is supply demand driven, and like a large flee-market if a buyer has knowledge of how many items are for sale at what prices and how many other buyers are in the market, then that buyer can capture the upper hand.
Lets examine supply. The eBay supply dynamic is a little different in that supply of an item must be seen at a point in time. In other words, because auctions end at different times, one needs to grasp the number of auctions ending in close proximity for the same item. This gives you a feel for the supply of items or in our case Lego. What makes this interesting is that today there could be a large amount of auctions ending for your item, but next week there could be very few. This is one element driving the price. Generally this information is available approximately one week out on the eBay site.
The demand side is slightly more complex and hidden. It is some of this data that the web site I refer to at the bottom helps identify. Demand in eBay terms is measured (by sellers) as a number of factors - how many people view my auction, how many people ask questions, how many people place me on their watch page, and how many people actually bid. Obviously as we progress down this list the data become more valid as an indication of demand. Page views are not easy to obtain, although some sellers place a publicly viewable counter on their auction pages. Questions and watchers are available to sellers, and the special web site mentioned below will expose this information. Number of bids is available for all to see.
Now if we happened to produce a graph as one auction progresses of the changes in the number of questions, watchers and bids, once can easily see how the demand is changing as time progresses. Typically if questions are high and watchers are high, but bids are low, this may indicate some confusion and a possible buy opportunity. If watchers is very high and climbing, but bids are low, this can point to a last minute bidding war, and a stay out indicator.
Armed with this information and also a quick summary of other similar auctions ending soon, plus a quick feel for the skill set of the seller and the current highest bidder, once can make see a picture very different from the average eBay buyer. Soon the trained eye will see some nice buying opportunities. For the serious collector or Lego enthusiast this will soon bring in parcels of Lego pieces and sets that are quite a bit cheaper that retail. For example it is quite possible to find gems at 50-70% of retail prices. Lets face it, most Lego pieces don't degrade or damage easy, so the aftermarket such as eBay is the idea place to buy cheap Lego.

Power of Positive Thought Energy

We have with us the conclusive proof for the Power of positive thought energy from the man who involved himself in the experiment of thought energy. His name is Marcel Vogel. He is a renowned scientist. He says: I am probably the first person in the world to have shown scientifically that there is energy accompanying the process of thought. I have measured this energy in experiments involving plants (philodendrons) and my own thought processes.
Mr. Marcel went to India and watched experiments on plant growth being carried out at the Bose Institute of Calcutta. The scientists there use a recording cresograph to chart the growth rate of a plant- in this case a blade of grass. This blade of grass was sealed off in a glass chamber. The Scientists could look on, but not physically interfere. They watched the machine plot a growth curve for this plant, a curve that would be considered normal in comparison to other growth rates. As Marcel Vogel watched, he suddenly decided to focus his mind on that blade of grass. He took a deep breath, held it, and then exhaled quickly. The plants growth rate accelerated! In other words the energy from his mind went out into the plant, and that mind energy caused the normal growth rate to change. When he focused his mind on the plant, the recorder indicated an accelerated rate: when he released his breath, the recorder jumped to a much higher point on the graph and continued to plot a curve from that higher point. In other words, it just totally transcended the normal growth rate and began a new curve at a much higher point. The whole rate of growth of that plant was modified by the thought energy.
Mr Marcel continued his experiments and proved that positive thought energy could be sent to anybody.
Madam Annie Besant and C.W.Leadbeater in their book, Thought Forms state :
Each definite thought produces a double effect a radiating vibration and a floating form.
The radiating vibration conveys the character of the thought. The quality of the thought determines colour. The nature of thought determines form. Definiteness of thought determines clearness of outline.
Annie Besant and Leadbeater advise us to cultivate helpful thoughts.
Thoughts are our own real children. Positive thoughts will produce positive results. Noble thought will bring happiness.
The astonishing scientific facts are compelling and convincing to cultivate the habit of Thinking Positively.

How to Become a Whistle Blower

Since the United States Government is promoting the whistle blower concept it is every citizens duty to report fraud and abuse of power in any branch of government. We must have an equal and level playing field. If the government relies on snitches, tattle tales and disgruntled whistle blowers to make up lies and report them to government regulators and honors such folks, then this is a clear signal to seek out dishonest government.
Anyone can be a whistle blower since the government does so many obvious things, which are unethical. The abuse of power is often done right out in the open. Now is your chance to join Thomas Paine and become a pain in their unethical rear ends. You are probably thinking, well yes this is a great idea indeed. But you ask yourself how do I get started? Well there are lots of ways for instance if you are a loud mouth environmentalist you can take a pseudo scientific or even a non-scientific study and write an article about it in an Environmental online newsletter, website or paper. These articles get published often before the regular news or such like; millionaire businessman gives to charity articles.
First pick a controversial topic to catch everyones attention and then spin it with innuendos which, half-truths and then just fabricate the rest and lead the reader into an opinion of mistrust. Tout yourself as a whistle blower or pick some group and call them the whistleblowers. After all more people listen to whistle blowers than those who produce anything; anyone can be a whistle blower, I met one today who told me that 9-11 was a conspiracy and offered all kinds of anti-government slurs.
Second keep referencing various sources as much as possible, even if it come from some ridiculous opinionated website or unnamed source. If you do not have the right quote and need one simply ask a friend to be your source. Say something like do you believe Dolphins are being killed by the oil drilling in Oklahoma? There answers should be a repeat of your question: I believe dolphins are being killed by oil drilling in Oklahoma and maybe add in another blasphamist comment to top it off such as; . . .and it is a travesty as the dolphin populations are at severe risk! Then quote them. If they have a degree of any kind this helps. For instance if your friend attended a University or has a PhD make sure to put that next to their name in the quote.
Third; try to put in a history lesson for the reader such as the dolphin population charts of Zimbabwee or try to find a fine given to a Wild Cater in the Permian Basin in 1932. Site some recent oil spills and the amount of Nox, CO2 in the atmosphere in 1988, even put a chart or graph in the article. Also make sure to show the vertical side bar in small increments and the horizontal side bar in large increments to show rapid and sharp increases. Ross Perot did this; you can too?
Forth; weave a conspiracy theory into the article and realize if you want change be sure to point fingers.
Well that is how you can be a whistle blower too and promote your agenda in the world thru the media. Being a squeaky wheel and whistle blower has its advantages, because now you can play the victim card too. Remember the joker is wild in this out of control scare tactic battlefield. Now go out there and cause sound and fury so I have more material to refute, condemn or condone, as I am a writer too and you humans are quite pathetic and boring. We need news, views and lies too. How else can we keep our ratings up? Think on this, you are now a whistle blower with an elevated status?

Basics of Welfare Economics

Human beings are the building blocks of society. The societies agglomerate to make states. And then the nations are formed. The economy of a nation is the indicator of its prosperity. What the economy affects primarily are the people of a country. The technique, which uses the concepts of macroeconomics to achieve social goals, has been christened as welfare economics. Economics with all the data, tables, graph etc. can seem to be a very strict and rigid field. But the economists have now attached the human touch to the economic sphere too. Broadly speaking this field essentially involves the distribution of wealth among all the people and hence providing them with the buying capacity.
The need for this approach to study economics arises because of the increasing index of poverty. The people normally do not pay heed to the poor and the needy. There are increasing numbers of people involved in minimum wage jobs. They are employed but yet poor. The wage jobs do not cover the medical insurance or education for the kids. Now in this situation the person prefers to fulfill the need of a square meal then to go for the education option.
In a democratic set up it is seen that the welfare takes a high position in the agenda of the governments. This is, for one, required to ensure the votes. And secondly democracy has an influence of socialism and communism in it, thus the psyche of the government is for the benefit of the masses. America is known for being one such democracy. There are enough people to work for such causes.
The gamut of social welfare is very wide and anything can be brought under it. In one way it is provision of safety to the countrys citizens. Safety from poverty, hunger, disease and many other things a social worker can think of. Now a very thought-worthy question arose when Ralph Nadar brought forward the concept of corporate welfare to the forefront, in 1956. This involves giving tax holidays and other regulatory leverages to the corporations. The debatable issue is that the corporate firms in a capitalist structure cannot be expected to work for the social welfare. And at every step the interests of society and the corporate seem to clash. The design of the corporate structure of the country should be such that it can cater to the needs of themselves as well as those of the society. Corporate governance jurisprudence is probably stemmed out of such conflicts.
The core issue of this problem is probably the distribution of income. The dichotomy on this count arises when one school of thought suggests the governmental influence on income slabs and the other theorizes that government should not at all be involved but it should be the sole discretion of the employer to pay the employees. The actual game lies somewhere in the middle. The governmental regulations do influence the wage schemes. The need of the hour is however, to check the accumulation majority of the wealth among a few hands.
The economic reforms to boost the grass root level employees too have to be brought because it is they who really are at the hem of the economic growth. The new approach is good from the point of view of the low-income people but a balance has to be struck between their interests and the interests of business giants.

Levitra - Gaining Quick Popularity

Your blissful life has suddenly turned topsy-turvy. Your partner cannot satisfy you the way you became so used to! The
sexual bliss that you took for granted suddenly seems elusive and transformed into a sexual problem. A thousand unpleasant thoughts crossed your mind in a second.
Halt! Give your mental horses a break. Everything is not lost. Your impotent husband can still make you feel heavens!
Erectile dysfunction (ED) or impotence does not generate the awe it used to when the prescription pills were not invented.
Levitra (vardenafil HCl) has managed to capture the imagination of most of the ED sufferers. Approved in 2003 by the US FDA as a prescribed oral pill for impotence treatment, Levitra has grown from strength to strength. Manufactured by Bayer Corporation of Germany and marketed globally by Glaxo Smith Kline, Levitra became only the second approved drug for the treatment of ED.
ED is not only a male sexual problem, but it also has contributed a great deal in wrecking the long and blissful
relationships besides causing many depression related diseases in the couple. But since using Levitra, the couples have reported satisfaction at large scale. Many couples have vouched for its efficacy.
Levitras sales graph is reporting northwards growth since the time of its coming into the market. The multiple growth of Levitra is attributed to the fact that it is equally effective in smaller dose where Viagra requires a larger dose. Thus, a
small intake of Levitra is sufficient to achieve the desired results of a full dose of Viagra. Moreover, the results of
clinical trials suggest that Levitra works faster than its counterpart Viagra. Some of the patients showed positive results
within 15 minutes of its intake.
Levitra is a prescription drug and must be taken only after proper diagnosis and prescription by a qualified doctor, which
is generally not the case when you are buying Levitra online.
Mars Attacks - More Often Than You Think!

Okay, before you think that I'm just another "alien freak", let me say that I don't mean that little green men from the red planet are on the warpath. The sort of "attack" that I'm referring to has to do with the very noticeable effects in your life whenever the planet Mars forms an "aspect" to one of the factors in your birth chart.
Have you ever had one of those days where you seemed
restless, perhaps even nervous, when you were impatient with others, when you couldn't sleep at night... and there didn't seem to be any obvious reason for your agitated state? Well, then you may well have been experiencing what is known to astrologers as a "Mars transit".
As you may already know, a birth chart is a map of the exact (to the degree and minute of arc) planetary positions on the date (and at the time and place) of your birth. One of the main techniques that we astrologers use to make predictions about the tendencies of a person's future is that of the so-called "transits". A transit occurs when a planet on a specific day/time (for example, right now) is passing over a degree of the zodiac that is in a specific angle to one of the important factors in your birth chart. Let's get more concrete. Suppose you were born on November 8 1955, at 9:48 am EST (as I was). The Sun in your birth chart is (as seen from the earth) in 15 degrees, 25 minutes of the sign Scorpio. Now, on Nov 6, 2005, the planet Mars is in 15 degrees Taurus: exactly 180 degrees from "your" Sun. An 180 angle is known as an "opposition", and is but one of the various aspects used in astrological work.
In order to interpret such an aspect, several things must be considered:
- The planet making the aspect (in this case, Mars)
- The planet (or other factor) in the birth chart receiving
the aspect (the Sun, in our example)
- The Nature of the aspect (in this case, of the opposition).
- Other considerations, such as the signs and houses these
planets occupy, other aspects that are present among the
factors in the birth chart, etc.
In our example, we'll simplify. An opposition is regarded as an aspect of tension, and often represents a challenge we have to face. As I write these lines, the planet Mars is in opposition to my Sun, and has been for several days - and I sure have noticed it! I've been busier than usual, teaching my students, working on different Internet projects, and have generally not had much time to just sit back and relax. This is often the case when Mars is in aspect to your Sun.
Also typical of Mars is, on occasion, accidents, or
experiencing pain of some sort. Well, a few days ago, one of my back teeth began to hurt. My dentist had warned me it was going to give me trouble some day (it already has several fillings in it), and I'm afraid that day has arrived. A toothache is a painful thing to have, as I'm sure many of you know, and in just a half hour, I'll be leaving for the dentist's to see whether the tooth can be saved, or must be extracted. In any case, the inevitable unpleasantness/pain associated with undergoing dental work is also typical of a Mars transit.
Nervousness, impatience and impulsiveness often occur under a Mars transit, so if you're experiencing such a time, I suggest you try to relax, take your time, drive more slowly than usual... for when under the influence of Mars, we tend to get ahead of ourselves, and this can, depending on the circumstances, lead to an increased risk of accidents.
How can you know when a Mars transit will be affecting you? Well, just about any good astrology program allows you to calculate transits. Our own "Omnicycles" program lets you do both your birth chart and transits (in graph form) for the weeks/months when Mars will be showing its influence most strongly in your future. There are also some astrology sites that let you calculate the positions of the planets for different time periods: use seach terms such as "astrology", "on-line ephemeris" (put this one in quotes), and "aspect" in Google to find sites that offer such a service.
Despite the occasional upsets that Mars transits can bring you, I should also mention the positive side. During these times, you will have more energy, and will no doubt be able to get a lot more done in your work, studies, etc. Take advantage of this trend: if you feel so "worked up" that you don't know what to do with all that excess energy, maybe it would be a good time to paint the porch, indulge in your favorite sport, or work it off in some other way. Just resist the temptation to do too much, or to tax your strength to the limit: be active, but don't take any unnecessary risks.
Since Mars can, in its worst manifestation, represent
violence, we can be pretty sure of one thing - If those little green men from that neighbouring red planet ever DO decide to attack and wipe us all out, it will probably happen when Mars is in a rather bad aspect to the Earth!

Interpreting an EKG

EKGs can assist doctors in diagnosing and determining any current or past heart abnormalities and are often a regular screening for those with heart disease. Through electrodes attached at various strategic body points, the EKG machine records the electrical impulses of the heart. The results of the impulses are displayed on a computer monitor and then printed onto graph paper. The attending physician or EKG technician interprets your heart health by reading the graphed EKG image.
EKGs are a critical tool for medical professionals to diagnose and treat heart ailments. The EKG reading of your heart is compared to the reading of a standard/normal heart in order to get an idea of your heart function. Abnormalities in the heart rate, heart rhythm or contractions and relaxations can signal the presence of past heart attacks, heart disease or coronary artery disease. If any of these symptoms are present, your doctor will refer you for further testing.
There are literally dozens of different methods for interpreting EKGs but most begin with a search for recurring patterns. One of the first things EKG technicians look for is heart rate. Electrodes are used to stimulate the heart into contracting and then relaxing. The first spike in the reading (the P spike) represents the impulses from the upper chamber of the heart. A flatter line called the PR interval represents a bridge between the contracting and relaxing of the atria. Each EKG has various other spikes and dips representing heart electrical waves; each spike or dip is referred to by an alphabetic letter.
Most normal hearts have a pattern with a slightly varying rhythm. This is called sinus arrhythmia and is considered normal and healthy. The absence of sinus arrhythmia may indicate other problems with the heart. In EKG interpretation, the lack of sinus arrhythmia has been seen to predict the occurrence of sudden death from heart attack or heart failure. The results of an EKG may become the basis for additional treatment. Your doctor will decide if further evaluation is needed. EKG technicians are highly trained and skilled medical professionals; many physicians consider these technicians to be the first authority in interpreting the EKG results.
Please Note: Professional EKG readings require a great amount of training and education. Since many methods exist to interpret these readings, it is often difficult for non-medical people to understand the terminology. If you are having an EKG performed, your technician will be glad to answer any questions regarding the EKG reading. If you notice something that seems abnormal to you, the technician may be able to calm your fears and by explaining the results in layman's terms.
How Many Guitar Chords Do I Need To Know?

Guitar chords, (chords played specifically on a guitar,) differ only from other types of chords by virtue of instrument; they're simply a series of three or more notes played together. These notes don't necessarily have to be played simultaneously, however.
Broken chords (also referred to as arpeggios) are three or more notes that aren't played at the same time but closely enough to still be heard as a group or whole. And even the three-note rule is open to the occasional exception; some guitar chords consist of only two notes, but they still function as chords because they work diatonically in the same way that a major or minor chord would.
Guitar chords might very well be the most important element of guitar playing; after all, they're the basis of what makes a song. Most people picking up a guitar for the first time figure out a few guitar chords before even going for their first lesson, and still more teach themselves guitar chords without any help from an instructor. Self-taught guitarists learn guitar chords in a number of ways. Some learn by listening to their favorite songs and slowly picking out the notes, a common yet often frustrating process. Others figure out guitar chords by learning to read guitar tab, a type of sheet music intended for fretted instruments that uses a graph-like chart to show where on the frets the fingers are placed. Both techniques are common among those learning guitar chords, though the number of self-taught guitarists who never learned to read tab is fairly high.
Just like any other instrument, the sheer number of possible guitar chords can often be overwhelming for a new guitarist. And even the frequently taught guitar chords are beginning to fall by the wayside, making room for a variety of guitar chords created by tuning the strings in almost innumerous ways. Though power chords (guitar chords using a base note, an octave note and the fifth) are still the most common type of guitar chords, new bands are increasingly experimenting with alternate tunings to create new sounds; alternative bands have been toying with this way of playing interesting guitar chords for decades.
So how many chords does a guitarist really need to know?
Most simple songs contain just 3 chords called primary chords. So even a stark beginner can learn 3 simple chords well enough to strum along and accompany himself as he sings. But after that, the sky is the limit there are thousands of possible chords, so it is up to the individual guitarist as to how many he or she want to master.

Is Candy Corn Actually Good For Kids? Do the Math and See

Does all the sugar in candy corn have you wondering whether or not it is good for your kids? In some ways, it just might be. Candy corn could possibly boost thinking skills and improve grades! After letting them eat their fill, have your kids use the candy corn for some math lessons.
On a very basic level, the orange, yellow, and white triangles can help teach colors and shapes. Mix them with some M&M's for a sorting exercise for little fingers. Have children arrange them together to make new shapes.
Need something a little more challenging? Try using the little candies for board game markers. Candy corn bingo is fun - with the numbers on the grid providing answers to equations and the candies marking the spots. Kids can graph different amounts of candy corn. Making spinners from cardboard with the arrows shaped like candy corn can provide another fun way of working with numbers.
Have you ever noticed that the little pieces - if turned on their sides - look like "greater than" or "less than" signs? Kids may enjoy unequal equations much more if they are using candy for the answers.
And what about some story problems? Tommy has 14 pieces of candy corn. If he steals his sister's 8 pieces, how many will he have in all? Since the story problem is quite versatile, candy corn is still helpful when the degree of difficulty is stretched a little. Maybe the kids should find the square root of the number of pieces of candy corn that Tommy has. Or maybe Tommy's stash of candy corn is going to grow exponentially over the entire month of October! Lucky Tommy.
How much does each individual piece of candy corn cost? That is a great math/life question. Which store offers the best price? Try weighing the candy corn - or maybe try weighing the children after they have eaten a few bags of it!
An enormous jar full of candy corn provides a great guessing/estimating game. And the jar will be award to the person with the closest answer. There is some mathematical way of making a fairly accurate guess. Is the prize worth the trouble of revisiting some old high school formulas?
Some geometry students might enjoy the Internet Math Challenge from the University of Idaho. The problem involves pretending the piece of candy is a perfect cone and reconfiguring its color's dimensions. Then again, maybe "enjoy" is too strong a word.
Math and candy corn unite in the world of fiction. Check out the books Who Brought the Candy Corn? by Judy Ann Brown and The Candy Corn Contest by Patricia Reilly Giff for some interesting reading as well as exercises in logic.
Talk about brain food! Perhaps candy corn will become the poster candy for educators everywhere. Not likely. But, hopefully, adding a little tasteful fun to a math lesson may encourage thinking and learning. It might also give the old excuse "the dog ate my homework" a little more credence.
Interior Design Style and Colour Use for the Home Office (3 of 4)

There are two ways that you can go about selecting the general decor of your home office: either follow the style that prevails in the rest of your home, or treat your office as an individual space. Choosing which way to go is a simple task requiring answers to only a few questions.
> Has your home been decorated in one style that is visible throughout?
> Is your office easily visible from other rooms/areas of your home?
> Does your work suggest a style of its own?
Based on the questions above, here are a few simple ways to help you easily achieve a pleasing decor in your home office.
If you are going to treat your office as a part of your home, using the same decor and style, your job is already half done. But remember, you don't have to use the exact colour scheme or mood. You can modify what you see outside your office to blend smoothly. For instance, you can reverse the main and accent colours; you can use the same colours but in different proportions; or a different level of formality. Because you are decorating an office, it is likely that you are going to want to treat the style differently than how it appears in other areas of your home, and this is normal. Don't be afraid to create a variation in the atmosphere -- it is only the general style you are aiming to respect.
For a home office that is open within an area of your home, you are going to have to be a little more cautious. In this case, you must respect the style seen around your office, but at the same time you should definitely aim to create a sense of separation between your work space and living space. Visual separation does not mean building a wall; it means creating a new environment within the existing one. Some ways of creating visual separation include changes in ceiling height and/or floor level (a step up or down); a room divider placed to look decorative rather than confining; colour changes such as reversing the main and accent paint colours used on the walls; and furniture placement.
Placing furniture in a way that the layout separates space is fairly simple, but don't forget to play with your ideas on graph paper first or else you may find yourself still rearranging while you should already be at your desk. Consider using a large bookshelf or storage cabinet as a room divider -- the back of it can be decorated with fabric, paint, a collage... or place furniture back-to-back to create the sense of two separate zones. Keep in mind while you are working on the layout that you don't want to feel that your office is, for instance, in the back of your basement -- it is at the back of the basement. Just as words can be played with, so can space.
A home office that is to receive a style of its own is a fun thing to work out. You should aim to have a bit of who you are visible in the decor, while creating a visual sense of what you do. This is not a cubicle in a large office complex -- this is your office. If you have a love of bold patterns, classic cars, angels... incorporate them into the decor even if they have nothing to do with what you will be doing in your office. At the same time, your office should say more about whay you do that "I work at a desk." What do you do at that desk? If you are in the computer business, have things around that suggest that, like an enlarged and framed comic strip that has something to do with computers. If your office is actually more of a workshop and you do clothing alterations, incorporate your supplies into your decor: display spools of thread in a rainbow-like pattern, hand a rod a few inches from a wall and drape some fabrics over it for an ever-changing backdrop. If you work in the travel industry, have a model plane suspended, and display items or pictures symbolic of some of your favorite destinations; if it won't get in your way, have a beach ball in your office, or make a "sandbox" to hang on the wall by gluing sand to the back of a shadow box and gluing small shells onto the sand.
When choosing the colours for your office, there are a few basic points to consider. Yellows, reds, and other very warm colours in large quantities can cause you to feel thirsty. Blue is very relaxing, but be careful not to choose a bland grey-blue that can actually lead to feeling tired or restless. The best way to go about selecting the colours for your office is to choose three colours; use one as a main colour (for instance on the walls), another as the main accent colour (visible in a pattern on a rug, drapes, desk accessories...), and the third as an accent colour appearing only in splashes here and there (such as flowers in a vase, a couple of photo frames...). At this point your colour scheme is set, and all you have to do is keep in mind some basic points of colour psychology. A dark ceiling will feel very low; mirrors and reflective materials make a space feel larger; too many colours, especially bold ones, can cause a feeling of clutter even if there is none.
A final point on the topic of colour and style: materials such as woods, stone, and metal can be incorporated into any colour scheme -- although they may affect the style, they will not clash. A natural pine desk will certainly give a different look than a mahogany one, but either will match any colour scheme; ditto for stainless steel and brass, and marble and concrete.
Look for the final article from this 4-part series on home offices: Lighting and Window Treatments for the Home Office.

The PowerPoint Myth

I use PowerPoint. I use it sparingly. People do not want to listen to someone narrate slides rich in text and details. People want to be engaged by a speakers words, charisma and delivery style. If I can make the complex, simple, I use PowerPoint. If I can make the theoretical, empirical, I use PowerPoint. If I can save a thousand words by sharing a picture, I use PowerPoint. The simple can have more impact than the complex. The PowerPoint Myth: PowerPoint enhances any presentation.
Many years ago, people brought a prop to a presentation to illustrate a point. Soon we were showing overhead transparencies in a darkened room. They were standard tools of the trade until PowerPoint was introduced--every presenters dream technology.
The purpose of PowerPointas with similar technologyis to simplify, clarify or render your point for the benefit of your listener. You could deliver a ten minute presentation about how car engines work and, until you project a cartoon graphic on the screen, it was difficult to conceptualize. Thank goodness for technology that illustrates concepts that previously were drawn on a chalkboard, flipchart, or distributed in a sea of handouts. But then we got greedy.
Too Much of a Good Thing
The occasional need to present a slide when speaking became a slide presentation with the occasional need to speak. People grew dependent on the convenience of hitting a button and having their presentation projected on the ten foot screen. Why memorize anything or have command of your material when your information is in plain view? People use PowerPoint not only as a spice, but its become the food itself. Its more than a crutch; its the means of transportation.
Roger Ailes, President and COO of Newscorp, wrote a wonderful book entitled You Are the Message. He believes your words, tone and body language become part of your entire communication repertoire. The moment you turn your back to your audience and search your PowerPoint slides for guidance, you are a narrator and no longer a presenter.
According to Aristotle in his Art of Rhetoric, communication is achieved with ethos, pathos, and logosthe speakers ability to appeal to his listener(s) by establishing character, and creating emotion in the context of a logical presentation. This can be achieved with the help of PowerPoint, not because of it. Use your personal style and character, not software special effects.
I have coached scores of executives who want to ensure that their years of hard work are reflected when they stand before their piers. Many ask me how to begin a speech with a joke, be funny or use a combination of notes and slides. I share the same advice each time: establish your purpose, flesh out your ideas and rehearseand, of course, be yourself. People try to compensate for poor communication skills with PowerPoints sound, motion, and color.
Sound, Motion, Color
These are wonderful additions to most presentations as long as they are used intermittently. Studies tell us that color accelerates learning, retention and recall up to 78%. It can be beneficial to reveal a pie chart or a graph. Maybe your sentences dissolve away or sub-points appear in alternating colorsbut use a balanced approach. Think of these attributes as pillars to a building: properly spaced and youre safe; too many too close together and it creates clutter.
I recently witnessed a presenter relegated to the back of a darkened room narrating a 50-slide PowerPoint presentation. There were sound clips that accompanied animation in slides, so when information was revealed, we heard breaking glass, a bullwhip, and a cash registers ka-ching. This is mildly entertaining if your audience is in the fourth grade. You will never compensate for a thin presentation with PowerPoints bells and whistles.
Kennedy and King moved millions with their words and delivery. Aristotle would have applauded let them come to Berlin! and I have a dream today! Aside of the audience size and length of presentation, we have similar opportunities to impress any audience provided we dont become a slave to the wires, remotes, and delicate laser bulbs of todays technology. The tail should not wag the dog.
Determine how you can accomplish your task with the spoken word in place of words on a slide, and you will identify the expendable slides. Thin the slide show and you will have a dynamic presentation free from PowerPoint baggage, shining with personalityyours.

The Top 10 Things You Should Know Before Starting An Online Business

1. You will not get rich quick.
Contrary to what you read in the hyped up websites and sales copy that are trying to sell you a business opportunity of some sort, it will take time to sell your product or service. Your customers need to find you, so make sure you have a plan so that they find you. Once they are interested in your offer, make sure it is persuasive and you have credibility. Fill your pipeline, keep advertising and know that it will take time to get the sales rolling in. Once the sales start coming in continue your marketing campaign. Just like the saying goes a force in motion, remains in motion!
2. Setting up your website might be time consuming
If you have to create a website, you will have to learn html, find a web host and use templates to creat your website. To save time (but not money) you could contact a web designer to build the website for you. Otherwise get ready to learn a new skill, like I did. The good news is it to less than a week for me to learn the basics and get a website going. There are many web hosts that offer website templates. Just fill in your info. But, what are you going to say? I reccomend that you write out your web design on paper or in microsoft word. Then fill in your template. Have your friends and family check it out to make sure it looks ok. Then publish and your in business.
3. Does the affiliate program provide your considering provide a free website?
Your in luck if they do. Now it is just a matter of marketing. Double check with the person in charge of your affiliate program to see if there might be a hosting fee in the future. With affiliate programs I suggest you learn about cloaking your affiliate URL. This will protect your profits. You can learn about cloaking by search the term in Google. If your an experienced webmaster ask if you can customize you affiliate website. Sometimes, depending on the program, they will not tell you about that.
4. Set a budget.
Know up front how much you are prepared to invest in your online business venture. Be prepared to lose that money if the business fails. Use money that you can afford to lose and will not affect your needs. Don't borrow money to fund your project if possible. But working online I know it will be necessary to use your credit card to get things going, but be sure to pay it back. If you have excel, setup a budget/accounting program. Don't take chances or over spend.
5. Have realistic earnings expectations.
If you learn about a fabulous business opportunity that will make you so much money... don't believe the hype. Wait until tomorrow or the next day before you make your decision about the opportunity presented to you. If your presented with the opportunity to make extemely large amounts of money follow, decide if the claim is over stated. Don't think that you can wake up in the morning in your underwear, check your email and see you have made tons of sales, like they want you to beleive. Think about what your real earning potential is going to be with your new business. Ask others what they think about it.
6. Start small and make sure that this business is for you.
Find a small online business that you can start that has a product many people can use. With this new business, see how you like doing business on the internet. It's not for everybody. But if you like it and want to continue in your new found career, then invest more into your company. If you discover it was not for you, you did not lose to much.
7. Learn online marketing skills
Now when you are sure about getting serios about online marketing, you will need to improve your marketing skills. There is alot to learn. Find out where you can market and use it to your best advantage. This includes the correct way to get listed in search engines, Google adwords, ezines and ezine advertising, email marketing and don't send spam. Learn to write articles and keep your website fresh, should help you in the search engines. Be ready to spend hours and hours learning all the techniques for online marketing. Use the easier techniques first.
8. Automate your online business.
When everything is setup and ready to go, your online busines hopefully will be automatic. When a customer comes to your website, they make thier purchase, credit card processor processes it, and if it is a digital product, it's delivered automatically! Otherwise you will have just a little work to do in shipping your product, check email, and make sure everything is running smoothly. There is even a software program that can answer emails automatically. The more automated your online business is, the more free time for you.
9. Write your plan on paper and follow the plan.
You know, Im also a pilot. Before I fly an airplane, I have a flight plan and I follow the flight plan, which leads me to my destination. It works every time! You should do the same with your business. Write out a business plan, it does not have to be fancy, but write something and follow it. If you don't you will fail. Make changes or add to it later, but you must do this in writing. Refer to your plan as you move along in your business to make sure your on the right course to sucess.

What Size Body Section Ranks Highest?

This is another one of the controversial questions in many of the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) forums, yet it is very easy to answer for any particular search engine. While popular belief seems to be that pages should be very short (less than 10K) to rank well with the leading search engine, this article conclusively answers that question with a completely different answer.
The methodology is really quite simple for this question. I gathered the results of the queries naturally performed last month by myself and three associates using Yahoo and Google. I then visited each page and wrote down the size of the body section of the page. Those sizes were then tabulated for the top 20 rankings and converted into a normalized ranking correlation.
The resulting number shows each group of body section sizes normalizing into a number between 100 and +100 showing the likelihood of being ranked higher/lower. A value of +100 shows that all 10 rankings were in the proper order to show that pages of the studied size ALWAYS rank HIGHER than pages of another size. A value of 100 shows that all 10 rankings were in the proper order to show that pages of the studied size ALWAYS rank LOWER than pages of another size. Numbers in between show the varying likelihood of rankings proportionally between 100 and +100.
That is the number you see on the Y-axis. On the X-axis, we have groups of page sizes varying from 0 to >100K bytes. Here are the graphs for Yahoo and Google:
http://www.searchenginegeek.com/graphs/dey02.gif
http://www.searchenginegeek.com/graphs/deg02.gif
(Note to Webmasters: Feel free to hot link to the above graphs or even copy them to your own site. Also feel free to delete this note.)
There is an obvious correlation on Google, which shows that body sections of a size between 50K and 60K generally rank much higher than shorter or longer bodies. The Yahoo graph is a bit more erratic, but also shows a nice peak at 60-70K (and another one at 20-30K). This goes against the popular belief that states that shorter pages rank highest. The popular belief is shown to be completely inaccurate with this study.
Notes:
1. For the purposes of this test, the actual body section size in bytes was used. The page was saved to disk and then everything before the body tag and after the end body tag were deleted. The resulting size of the file as reported by the operating system was used. Graphics and any other external references were completely ignored.
2. Over 1,000 queries and over 10,000 sites were examined for this study.
3. There was no exercise to attempt to isolate different keywords. I merely took a random sampling of the queries performed by myself and three associated during the prior month.
Conclusion:
Pages with a body section size between 50K and 70K rank best on the two leading search engines!
This is merely a correlation study, so it cannot be determined from this study whether the leading search engine purposefully entertains this factor or not. The actual factors used may be far distant from the factor we studied, but the end result is that this search engine does, in fact, rank pages between 50K and 60K higher than pages of other sizes.

Menstrual Calendar, Charting Your Signs of Fertility

Charting the signs of our menstrual cycle is a good way to keep in touch with our bodies, our feelings, and our health. It is also a good way to predict our days of menstruation in advance, even if menstrual cycles are irregular, and to know the most fertile times if we are hoping to conceive.
Cervical Mucus
The sign that is easier to observe is the cervical mucus, since it is noticed in the course of daily activity. Fertile type mucus is produced by the cervix during the days when the ova are maturing and preparing for ovulation. This mucus is not only an indicator of fertility, it is essential for fertility. Cervical mucus nourishes the sperm, protects them from the natural acidity of the vagina, and guides them toward the ovum. Following is a simple way to observe and chart your fertile type mucus.
Pay attention to how you feel as you go about your daily activities. Just as you have learned to notice a certain wetness at menstruation, you will begin to notice a second wet time, but later in the cycle, and without bleeding. The second wet time is caused by your fertile type mucus.
Each time you go to the bathroom, wipe with toilet paper both before and after you use the toilet, noticing: a) the sensation you feel as you wipe with toilet paper, b) what is on the toilet paper. Chart what you see and what you feel in the following way. Or use any charting method that makes sense to you.
1) Menstruation: mark the days of bleeding in some way, such as coloring the calendar day red.
2) Nothing: if you don't see or feel anything outside your vagina, you can leave the calendar blank on those days.
3) Something: but if you see or feel something - anything -such as pasty or sticky mucus, or a feeling of wetness - draw something, such as a raindrop, on these days.
4) Slippery something: If the pasty or sticky mucus turns to slippery mucus or a slippery feeling, color the raindrop dark to indicate the slippery wetness.
After a few slippery wet days, the mucus may disappear or return to sticky or pasty. When it does, begin to count the days until menstruation arrives. In a normal fertile cycle, the time between the last day of slippery mucus or slippery feeling and the next menstruation is between 11-16 days. You will become quite accurate about your predictions after you chart for about three cycles.
The mucus is your most fertile time, since fertile type is produced during the days leading up to and including ovulation. But don't try to use this information for birth control unless you seek out a qualified teacher of fertility awareness or natural family planning. However, if you are hoping to become pregnant, charting the mucus and the dry times of the cycle will allow you to know your most fertile time. It will also allow you to predict your next menstruation with accuracy, and to begin a new and sensitive relationship with yourself.
Under the influence of the hormone estrogen, when the fertile mucus is present, we may feel courageous and loving. Men who bored us last week may suddenly appear interesting and attractive. Like Mother Earth in her rainy season, we are full of potential. We may also be interested in sexual activity. These emotions and reactions are caused by the hormone estrogen, which is getting us ready to have a baby, even though we may not want that for ourselves yet!
After ovulation, under the influence of the hormone progesterone, we may feel somewhat deflated compared to our wet, fertile time. Like Mother Earth in her dry time, we may feel quiet, with less energy. When menstrual bleeding begins, both estrogen and progesterone are at low levels. We may feel sensitive, solitary, or inward.
Generally speaking, dark red bleeding for about three days indicates that hormones are high enough to build a good uterine lining and nourish a fetus in the event of conception. However, more than three days of heavy bleeding can be exhausting. Three to five days of wet, slippery mucus 11-14 days before the next menstruation is a probable indicator of normal ovulation and a fertile cycle. Cycles are often 28-30 days from the first day of bleeding to the first day of the bleeding of the next menstruation. However, irregular cycles do not indicate infertility. If the time between the last day of slippery mucus and the next menstruation is 11-16 days, the cycle is probably fertile. Even if one cycle is not fertile, the next may well be fertile. Much depends on the stress we may be feeling. Keeping a chart allows us to keep all things in perspective, and feel our own harmony with all the cycles of nature.
Basal Body Temperature
If you are not sure you are ovulating, you can take your temperature. The body's resting temperature increases four-tenths of a degree Fahrenheit or two-tenths of a degree Centigrade under the influence of progesterone at ovulation. Observing this sign involves taking your temperature at the same time each morning before rising. (This is not as hard as it sounds. It takes less than two minutes and you can go back to sleep if you want.)
To observe your temperature rise, buy a BD brand digital basal thermometer. This brand will give you a consistent and accurate reading. Other high quality brands of digital basal thermometers are also probably accurate, but have not been tested for fertility awareness. Make sure the battery is good. (You can replace it.) An ordinary clinical thermometer is not accurate enough for fertility awareness. Nor is the "ear thermometer" (tympanic thermometer).
Take your temperature every day immediately upon waking, before 7:30 a.m. The body's rhythms (circadian rhythms) fluctuate over a 24-hour period. Your temperature is lowest in the early morning and highest in the afternoon. Fluctuations are greater after 7:30 a.m. If you go to bed before midnight and wake up before 7:30 a.m., you will get the clearest temperature readings.
If it is not convenient to take your temperature immediately upon waking, you may take it during light morning activity. For example, if you need to go to the bathroom, you may take your temperature while getting up and using the toilet. But be consistent about the circumstances under which you take your temperature. If you take it during light morning activity, take it that way every morning. Don't take it sometimes before getting up and at other times during light morning activity. If you have sexual relations, take your temperature before.
Many women find that the digital thermometers require such a short time to use that it is easy to take their temperature before getting up. Take your temperature by mouth. Under arm and ear temperatures are not accurate enough for family planning purposes. The thermometer will beep softly several times before beginning to beep slightly louder and repeatedly. Keep the thermometer under your tongue until the louder, repeated beeps begin. You can read and chart your temperature as soon as is convenient after taking it. Your thermometer has a recall button that allows you to read the last temperature taken. Be sure to wash your thermometer after each use.
Your Temperature Graph
Put a dot on a graph on the spot corresponding to each day's temperature. Join the dots of consecutive days. If you do not take your temperature one day, do not join the dots across that day. Also write out the temperature numerically, to guard against errors in graphing.
Interpreting Your Chart
1) Breathe and relax. Study your chart.
2) Can you find six low temperatures during the fertile mucus days of your cycle?
3) Draw a horizontal line at the highest of the six low temperatures. This is your low temperature line.
4) Draw another horizontal line four-tenths of a degree F. or two-tenths of a degree C. above your low temperature line. This is your full thermal shift line.
5) Can you find three high temperatures after the low temperatures? All of the high temperatures must be above the low temperature line. At least the third high temperature must be at or above the full thermal shift line.
6) This temperature pattern of low and high temperatures is called a biphasic pattern with a full thermal shift. A biphasic pattern with a full thermal shift confirms that you really did ovulate. A smaller, but sustained temperature rise also probably indicates ovulation.
If you are hoping to become pregnant, please pay close attention to nutrition. Look for unprocessed foods grown without chemicals. Exercise in moderation. Get plenty of rest. Avoid stress. Think happy thoughts. Pray for the child you desire, and begin sending your child love, now. Heal any hurtful feelings between you and your mate, and between you both and your parents. Your mate should avoid hot shower or baths and tight clothing, both of which lower sperm count. To increase your chances of conception, use the wet, slippery days for sexual relations.
If you have observed a biphasic pattern with a full thermal shift, and it is now 18 days since your last slippery, wet day, and menstruation has not arrived, you may feel confident that you have conceived.
Congratulations and blessings!
